Annual Elections 2011-12
Federal B. Area Association of Trade & Industry, Karachi is a
democratic institution, where elections of office bearers and
members of its executive committee are held every year.

Development & Management Company
On July 13, 2005, a meeting with industrialists of Karachi was
convened at Governor House under the Chairmanship of the then
President of Pakistan. It was aimed at to discuss problems and
difficulties being faced by the industrialists of Karachi with
regard to the most deteriorated condition of infrastructure in
industrial areas keeping the WTO conditionalities in view.
The President of Pakistan was pleased to direct formulation of
infrastructure development companies in industrial areas of Karachi.
Purpose was to rehabilitate and upgrade the existing infrastructure
and identify the projects for future need.
The President also announced Rs. One billion from Federal Government
while an equal amount was to be contributed by the Provincial
Government as matching grant. As such each industrial estate will
get Rs. 250 million from Federal Government and another Rs. 250
million from the Provincial Government out of the declared funds.
Under the programme, Korangi, Landhi, North Karachi and Federal B.
Area industrial estates had set up their companies under section 42
of the Companies Ordinance 1984 and got license from the Securities
& Exchange Commission of Pakistan duly incorporated by Joint
Registrar of Companies. FITE Development & Management Company is
that of Federal B. Industrial Area. It is a guarantee company with
share capital, incorporated in public-private partnership to bring
to reality the industrial vision of the President of Pakistan.
The company has so far received the share of Provincial Government
only and by which completed construction of roads and storm water
drains as well as arranged proper street lightening in the entire
area of Block 21 & 22.
The Board of Directors of this company is comprised of 16 members,
of which 3/4th i.e 12 members are appointed from private sector
while 1/4th i.e 4 to be nominated from government sector.
